Brittle stars are nocturnal and very timid and although very common are almost never seen during the day.
This brittle star,
Clarkcoma canaliculata is out hunting on sponge and was very sensitive to torch light. Unlike other starfish these guys are fast and agile and can move very quickly if they choose to. To make this image I had to use stealth mode with torch light off to avoid disturbing it.
